Erika + Clay's Colonial Williamsburg Engagement Session
Happy Wednesday everyone! Although I’m officially on maternity leave from shooting, I’ll still be sharing lots of beautiful couples and families as well as tips and tricks I’ve learned this year! Today I’m highlighting Erika and Clay’s Colonial Williamsburg engagement session from back in September!
When Erika and I first chatted about planning her session, we decided on September because it would be “cooler”. HAH! September 28th (to be precise) was one of the hottest days we had in a while. The three of us were absolutely drenched in sweat, but you would never know by how amazing these two look! I was another story…
Erika and Clay met at Christopher Newport University years ago. They started as just friends and then eventually it grew to so much more! Colonial Williamsburg held special meaning for the two of them. Not only did Erika grow up in Williamsburg, but it’s where they first began dating!
Their session was so wonderful and full of light! Williamsburg was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday afternoon, and we were able to reminisce over CNU days (go Captains!), and talk about their love story, how exactly Clay picked out the ring, and their love of ‘80s music!
Despite the heat, we had so much fun running around Williamsburg and capturing some incredible photos, and memories!
My favorite thing ever is when sessions feel less like a business transaction and way more like hanging out with friends, and I just happened to bring my camera along. I’m so fortunate to be able to work with incredible couples who make my job so easy and rewarding. Erika + Clay are two of the best and I can’t wait to watch them grow more in their relationship.
