Moody and Romantic Engagement Session at Virginia Beach’s Brock Environmental Center
Pleasure House Point behind the Brock Environmental Center in Virginia Beach is hands down one of my favorite session locations. This place is truly gorgeous year round. One of the huge benefits of coming here during the off season though is that it’s generally pretty empty apart from sometimes a dog walker or a running club!
April in Virginia Beach doesn’t always bring sunshine—and honestly, that’s part of its charm. On the day of Jazzleen and Salim’s engagement session at the Brock Environmental Center, the skies were soft and overcast, casting a dreamy light over the Chesapeake Bay. There was no golden hour, no bold sunset—but what we got instead was something beautifully serene and intimate.
The Brock Center & Pleasure House Point is one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions. Nestled between the bay and sand dunes, it’s surrounded by natural beauty—wind-swept grasses, weathered boardwalks, and quiet water views that feel completely untouched. Even on a cloudy day, the landscape feels alive with texture and depth.
Jazzleen and Salim embraced the moody atmosphere completely. The muted sky gave everything a romantic softness, and the cool tones of the day made their warmth toward each other stand out even more. Their laughter echoed across the boardwalks, and in the quiet in-between moments, they shared the kind of glances that said more than words ever could.
Jazzleen, Salim, and I got together to take their engagement pictures about a year and a half ago and it was truly stunning. The overcast, grey weather made for a super cozy and romantic feel and they totally went with it!

Their photos are truly warm and romantic and I think they totally knocked their outfits out of the park. Normally, I don’t see a lot of coordination but they totally pulled it off!
Jazzleen was so open, warm, and excited telling me about their upcoming wedding! They planned a destination wedding in Mexico and I’m betting it was a bit warmer than our session! I truly felt like I was with old friends, chit chatting about mutual friends we had and what they studied in college and what they do now!

I actually got to see them again fairly recently at a proposal in May that they helped plan and it was SO great!
