Grace + Adam’s golden engagement session.
Back in early November I took my last session prior to going on maternity leave. I was 36 weeks pregnant and was on the fence about committing to one last session, but Grace and Adam had offered to drive all the way to Virginia Beach from their home in West End, NC.
They are in the process of restoring Grace’s grandfather’s home for them to live in once they’re married. How romantic is that?! I have absolutely no idea what the house looks like, but I couldn’t help but imagine the house that Noah restored for Allie in The Notebook.
Well that evening…was golden. The weather was absolutely stunning and the entire photography community of Hampton Roads came out to celebrate the beautiful evening at Pleasure House Point.
When Grace first inquired, she told me very confidently that she knew that they were young but that she knew God brought them together, which I TOTALLY identified with! I met my husband Drew when I was just 18 years old and we got married when I was 22. I totally believe that when you know, you know!
Their wedding will take place in May on their family’s property in NC. When I asked what their first dance song would be (I love asking all my couples this!), Adam jokingly said “that song from Napolean Dynamite”. So…I cranked up Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper and we all laugh-sing-screamed it as the sun went down.
I feel so blessed that after every single engagement session I have, I leave with my cheeks hurting from smiling and thinking “wow, how can this get any better?”
