Pleasure House Point Engagement Session near the Virginia Beach oceanfront
Pleasure House Point will always rank among one of my favorite places to shoot engagement sessions in Virginia Beach, and this golden hour session solidified that for me!
Nestled right next to the Brock Environmental Center near Shore Drive, Pleasure House Point is a go-to spot for photographers in the Virginia Beach area! Turner and Madeline knew right off the bat that this was the spot they wanted as the backdrop for their session while we were planning for it!
I normally get the question “how do I prepare for my session?” before engagement sessions and couples sessions. I always start my sessions with FUN. Turner and Madeline brought along drinks to sip on for the first few minutes. They told me they were soooo nervous (which…can you even believe that by looking at these pictures?!). I prioritize making sure you’re actually having a good time so that your pictures reflect that.
Madeline and Turner are true locals like me, so we were able to laugh and reminisce about growing up around here, high school acquaintances we had in common, and for Madeline and I - what it was like to grow up in Chesapeake and move to Virginia Beach!
I asked Turner the story behind the ring, and whether Madeline helped pick it out. He told me that he was set on the marquise shape which I love. It’s so classic and elegant and looks amazing on Madeline!
Most of my couples will tell you my goal is for you to feel the session, not just show up and take some pretty pictures and go home. I want it to be like a date for you two, and I’m just tagging along. At this point in the session I asked Turner why Madeline was going to make the best mom to their future children. It turned into a really sweet and emotional moment for them that I was able to just take a step back, let them enjoy, and document.
