Sunset Maternity Session at Pleasure House Point with Lauren and Dakota| Virginia Beach Photographer

You’ll catch me at Pleasure House Point, here in Virginia Beach a lot because it is one of my favorite spots for sessions — and it’s easy to see why. With its beautiful mix of water views, tall grasses, lush trees, and glowing sunsets, it offers the perfect backdrop for any kind of photoshoot. Whether it’s a maternity session, family portraits, or a couples session, this location always delivers with it’s the perfect mix of coastal and natural.

For this maternity session, I had the joy of photographing Lauren and Dakota as they prepare to welcome their first baby. These two are true nature lovers, so Pleasure House Point was the perfect fit — peaceful, scenic, and full of natural beauty.

Lauren and Dakota actually met while studying engineering at Virginia Tech (how fun is that?). After college, they spent some time in Ohio before moving back to Virginia Beach, where they both now work at the same company. Even though they’re getting ready for their first baby, they already share their home with an adorable Australian Shepherd who loves joining them on adventures, including plenty of walks through Pleasure House Point!

Our evening together was relaxed and filled with laughter as we explored the trails and soaked in the views. The light was soft and golden, and as we wrapped up, we even saw dolphins in the cove!

I will always say how grateful I am to have the opportunity to capture this special chapter for couples like Lauren and Dakota. This season of life specifically has so much excitement, anticipation and joy!
