In-Home Moving Out Baby Announcement Pictures

Some sessions hit a little deeper — this was one of them.

Makaila and Brian invited me into their home for an in-home baby announcement session before moving to Maryland for a new chapter. Their story has been filled with both joy and heartbreak — they’re expecting Baby #2 after losing their first earlier this spring. This session was such a tender way to celebrate hope and honor the journey that brought them here.

Their home held so many memories — it’s where they started their marriage, where Makaila lived with her sister and niece while both of their husbands were deployed, and where they began building their family. Photographing their last moments in this space was truly so special. You could feel the mix of emotions — excitement for what’s ahead and the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye to the place that’s been home for so long.

Makaila has become such a wonderful friend. She’s brilliant, kind, witty, and strong — already such an incredible mom who’s been an advocate for her babies since day one. I know she and Brian will step into this next season beautifully, and I can’t wait to see them welcome their sweet little one next year.

Being able to capture moments like this feels like such a gift! A chance to pause time right before everything changes. These quiet, real life sessions tell the kind of stories I never get tired of capturing!
