Sophia and Sam

Every photographer has an “ideal client”. Pause. Probably every business owner has one! I’ve talked to my husband Drew about what his ideal pool customer would be, and even he has someone in mind.

I’m pretty lucky in the fact that all of my clients are pretty darn ideal. Sam and Sophia are a little extra ideal to me, and here’s why. A few months ago I decided I really wanted to hone in on the region that I would travel to for weddings. Having two little ones at home makes leaving for weddings out of town even harder, and although I adore the mountains, I was ready to close out the adventure portion of my photography career.

Sophia contacted me and I thanked her but let her know she was just outside of the radius I was traveling, but I’d be happy to refer her to some other amazing photographers. She agreed to go ahead and book an engagement session with me though (yay!). Later, Sophia asked me if we could hop on a call to discuss the session, and during the call she expressed to me that she had absolutely fallen in love with my style and truly couldn’t see herself going with another photographer. Because her wedding is juuuuuust outside of where I want to be traveling, it was easy for me to make an exception.
