A Meaningful Maternity Session in Norfolk, VA
There are some sessions that feel extra meaningful—and this one with Bianca and Jordan was definitely one of them.
Jordan and I actually went to rival high schools, but we had a ton of mutual friends, which always makes the world feel a little smaller in the best way. Over the years, Bianca and I have also attended the same church, and she is truly one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet—so kind-hearted, joyful, and full of genuine warmth.

From Nursing School to Motherhood
A few years ago, Bianca completed nursing school and now works as a labor and delivery nurse, which makes this season of stepping into motherhood even more special. Watching someone who has cared for so many others step into this role themselves is always incredibly meaningful.
Jordan has also dabbled in photography—both in the sports world and as a volunteer at church—so it felt even more special getting to document this season for them.
A Planned Session with a Special Story
This session was especially fun to plan because Jordan was the winner of my fall giveaway, so we had this maternity session on the calendar well in advance. Being able to intentionally document this season made it feel even more celebratory and relaxed.
A Chilly Evening That Felt Warm and Joyful
You would never guess from the images, but the evening was actually pretty chilly. Despite that, Bianca and Jordan made everything look effortless—completely comfortable, connected, and full of joy.
That genuine connection is always what makes a session truly stand out.
What to Wear for Maternity Photos: A Sheer, Ethereal Look
Bianca chose a wispy, sheer maternity gown that perfectly highlighted her bump. It brought such a soft, ethereal feel to the entire session and photographed beautifully in the coastal light.
If you're planning your own maternity session, choosing a dress with movement—like chiffon or sheer layers—can make a huge difference in creating that dreamy, timeless look.
Another huge trend right now is the jeans and simple tee or sweater look, like what Gina and Anthony chose for their maternity mini session a few weeks back!
Norfolk & Virginia Beach Maternity Photography Inspiration
Sessions like these are why I love what I do—capturing not just how a season looks, but how it feels. The anticipation, the connection, and the quiet excitement of what’s to come.
If you’re planning maternity photos in Norfolk or Virginia Beach, sunset sessions by the water create the most beautiful, soft light and timeless imagery.
Bianca and Jordan, it was such an honor to document this season for you.
