Virginia Beach North End Maternity Session - Sarah & Bryan

One of the greatest honors of getting to run this little business is documenting huge milestones for people I know (and have known for years now!). Sarah and I are not only friends but also sorority sisters! We were part of the founding class of Delta Gamma at CNU, and it’s been so amazing being able to keep up with what everyone is doing after college, which in Sarah’s case has included getting an amazing job, starting a creative business alongside Bryan, getting married, and now welcoming baby CHARLIE so soon!

I love that so many of my clients will opt to drive down to the beach even if it’s not the most convenient. The backdrop of the dunes along the coast is something that makes it feel almost like we’re in California.

During the session, Sarah and I were able to have some real conversation about pregnancy and motherhood. I think that anyone who has experienced pregnancy before can agree - it is hard. We both honestly didn’t realize just how hard it would be, and almost felt guilty admitting it. I think it’s so important for us to realize that we can be both simultaneously so joyful and grateful for a wonderful thing, while also acknowledging that the thing (in this case - a growing human!!) can be difficult. I know in these pictures, you probably just see a gorgeous and glowing mama to be - but in reality there is so much strength going on behind the scenes that most don’t get the opportunity to witness, but many understand because they’ve walked through the same thing.

I can’t believe that baby Charlie is almost here. She is so loved, anticipated, and will have incredible parents who will lead her through life well.
