Emylie and Kyle, engaged.
Behind intimate weddings, engagement sessions are by far my favorite things to shoot! Although it was suuuuper cold back when we took Emylie and Kyle’s portraits, you would have no idea by looking at these portraits. These two met at TCC a few years ago and have created a life and home together in the Chick’s Beach area of Virginia Beach.
Emylie is originally from the Pacific Northwest, and I was so glad she was still down for the session, despite the overcast skies. Kyle is a local and actually attended the same high school as my husband Drew! They graduated just a year apart. Side note: overcast days are pretty much my favorite!
The best part of the whole session was just listening to Kyle get so excited to brag on Emylie about everything. He told me with the biggest smile on his face how amazing Emylie was at her job, and what an incredible cook she is! Just like Drew and I, they looooove trying new recipes and binging shows like Chopped. Lately a new hobby has become making new baked goods and mixed drinks (which I should say - I will take baked goods in lieu of payment for future sessions for them).
They got engaged on Valentine’s Day this year and are planning their wedding for sometime in the next year or two. I am so grateful to one of my good friends (and past brides!) Rachel for pointing them in my direction.
